Looking for any info on this wrap. 1/16" thick x 48" wide x 90" long. Means single seam on the bd. Wondering if anyone has used this wrap for a project?
This is not the Sparkle film wrap on ebay being sold as wrap.

I dont know but for under 100.00 it might be worth trying it on a cheep kit. Contact the seller and ask for a sample. Of course its from Colorado so he might be to stoned to reply.

I've contacted them for samples. If you go and view their "other items," you'll see he also has a black sparkle listed... and I know it's very hard to tell by photos, but it appears to be (at least) very similar to the new, cheaper black sparkle that Jammin' Sams now has available, of which I already have a sample of.
The new wrap from Sams is a useable alternative -- we'll see how this stuff measures up... who knows, maybe it's the same stuff!

Let us know what you think Bill.
You bet I will!
I like "alternatives." But quite frankly I've NEVER wrapped a drum in a sparkle or glass glitter finish unless it's a custom ordered job where I've gotten at least a partial payment from the customer "up front" (with the exception of a time or two when I've used Precision's special blowout pricing). I'm a one-man operation and just can't afford to have big dollars tied up in wrap on drums that might take several weeks (or months) to sell!
That's why I was so excited (and still am) with the load of PSA veneers I picked up last summer! I can take a set (vintage or cheap) and make it look brand new without investing what I look at as a lot of money! And then of course move that set for a lot less money!
IF this stuff is any good at all... well you know what I'm saying.
I'm not holding my breath though. Many times you "get what you pay for." There are cheap alternatives out there that I will NOT use...
Bill
My samples should be on the way soon. I paid them $3.00 through Paypal, and I'm supposed to be getting a sample of every color they have!
Bill
Talking with local drum maker, his feeling is it will be pretty thin. Maybe for quick flip fixup? Be interesting in getting your feedback.
I was going to order some samples myself, so thanks for TOFTT. Bowing
OK... my samples arrived today.
It's NOT the same stuff Jammin' Sam's has available... but close.
It's WAY HIGHER quality than the peel 'n stick stuff that's also on eBay.
I really won't know for sure until I work with it, but I WILL be ordering some to try it out on a set within the next couple of weeks (need to finish up what I've got already going first!).
They sent me:
Solid White
Satin White/Silver (kind of a holographic thing...)
Solid Black
Black Mist
Maroon Mist
Red Mist
Orange Mist
Light Blue Mist
Blue Mist
Purple Mist
Silver Mist
I'm just guessing on what the colors are called. The one I called "mist" remind me of what Ludwig put on their Standard drums in late 60s/early 70s. Just my opinion.

thanks for the info. i actually ordered some samples of the black sparkle earlier this week so i could check it out as well. it does look very similar to the ludwig standard wrap in the pictures. or even like the metallics used on some entry level drums.
Yes, I moved a Ludwig Accent set last summer and the finish on it was very similar to this stuff...
