I can only play with a lite sticks . Like maple 7A's with a nylon tip . I don't want any type of jazz small sticks. I know that ProMark don't make them and SP don't either . But I know Vater's do but they just so expensive . I am looking for 12 pair in a box. Last time I bought just no name brand off Ebay , I would have to really sand them down to a 1/2 inch to get the feel of the sticks . last box that I just bought from Ebay I had to give them away. I was tired of sanding them . I don't know if this might sound crazy to you or not. Or my typing is off some how. On the way I say thing's . I don't know .
Drumsticks
Ok, I did buy a box of these. Stagg's . But I feel like there more heavy sticks . But I had to give those away to . I couldn't used them . But check this out. What is a size 2b . Is it bigger than a 7a or just about the same size like a 5b

Jeff Rich makes full custom sticks. Any spec of yours and free logo printing. He does a hardening process that really makes them last. He made me a real nice stick that combined the 747 width and taper with the Danny Seraphine sig stick length and knurling. Great guy to work with. He also stocks a few popular sizes he's done for others. Send him a email to discuss. Prices very reasonable and on the website.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.
I would have to play with maple sticks . Because I have arthritis in my right shoulder and both in my hands . Oak and Hickey is just out of the question for me. Just to heavy . Sometimes when I practice a lot , my right shoulder would actually give away on me . And sometimes I lose my grip .And drop sticks. And the 7A's with the nylon tips is the only sticks that I really use . But you might think that is the problem . using smaller size . Or you think that I should step it up a notch in a different size
7A in Maple is a very light stick. The only thing lighter would be the wood tip version, and not by much.
You may want to consider some strength training. If you use the pad with heavier sticks, when you go to the drums with your lighter sticks, you will have built muscle to support the joints better than relying on the joints alone. You should discuss this with your physical therapist.

Look for the ones with the green dip.
They seem to weigh half compared to the hickory ones I usually play.
