Somebody mention to me . That he could get me some at a discount price.
Just wondering about them old case's from the 1980's . Cardboard strap case style . If them are really worth buying anymore ..
I think the modern soft cases are better than those old fiberboard hard cases. No, I KNOW they are, because I own both.
Protection Racket is my favorite, but there are several similar with a tough coudura exterior and a wooly interior with foam in between. Toss them in the car like cord wood and the drums come out fine. Nothing like the old fabric "soft" cases which really only protect from dust and sunlight only.
I'm always keeping my eyes peeled for P.R. brand cases for cheap but that doesn't happen often...
Note a lot of these modern cases allow room for a RIMS mount, so you may need to size down for a virgin tom or one with a rail clip only. Best to always test fit first.
See I am using the old Gator soft zip bags . I am just trying to find out just which hard case's to really use here. No padded inside or padded inside .
Well, if you want a hard case, SKB is making nice stuff, but it’s expensive.
Those gator bags are good. I think my 14” ft case is a gator. Maybe it’s Cases brand. But P. R. Is still the top of these type cases to me.
The ultimate would be Pelican, but the cases can cost as much as the drum... used pelican is not too bad but expect to pay $100 for a 12” Tom Case.
Gator Bags . Don't they make any hard case's at all . I know SKB has some good case's to
Would like to get some good use ones . If I could
Wasn`t there an issue with Gator bags a few years back? I remember members stating that their drums inside the bags were going moldy and were starting to rust...It was like the bags wouldn`t allow the drum to breathe...Maybe it was another brand...
Cheers
Long term storage?
Then plastic bag with a desdicant taped to the Batter head with blue painters tape. Put that inside the gator bag.
I don’t store drums in cases. My blue kit is in the original boxes (for the most part) and the others are out in the Drumgeon.
Drum size that I have "Deep Toms" . I am looking for some good hard shell case's for them. Tom Rack are 10x10 , 12x9 , 13 x10 , floor tom 16x15 . bass drum 22x18 . Looking to buy , But I just don't want to go over budget . Use or New . Which ones are pretty good to get . But I am trying to figure out which brand would be good and not to expensive to buy . Please help
Padded hard shell's
Or the Unpadded hard shell's
