Drop-in replacement for Slingerland FT brackets?

Loading...

Y'all have been incredibly helpful in helping me get my newly-acquired Slingerland kit from the early 1970s. I have another quick question.

Does anyone make a drop-in replacement for the floor tom leg brackets? I've fixed the one that was stripped out with my helicoil kit, but if there are better ones out there that are less prone to strip and can be dropped in without drilling, this may be worth my time.

I'd like to either use my factory 9.5mm legs if possible.

Thanks everyone!

With a properly made Heli-coil repair you should not have any more stripping problems.

Back in the day I used what I think is still known as Gibraltar GSCTL2. Takes the 9.5mm legs. To fit It will require slight elongation on one of the holes. I used a round file.

Cheers

+1 with this reply! I've got a few Heli-coil repaired mounts and I'm confident they won't strip.

Nice looking shells! Is one of them a 16 deep x 14 diameter floor tom?

Thank you for your replies! I think Inde makes a bracket that will work, but they are REALLY expensive. I'll keep on with helicoil kit.

Thanks again!

I don’t remember who clued me in to this, but Yamaha “stage custom” FT brackets have the same hole spacing.. although they DO require a slightly larger hole in the shell. I didn’t mind using them on this project.. but would look into repairing original ones if this were a vintage looking Wmp kit or something similar

bbeyer! The Yamaha mounts look great! Glad you found brackets with the same hole spacing.
