Dream Cymbal Tasting in Cincinnati Oct. 1 & 2

Loading...

Greetings fellow drummers,

I hope this isn't considered abuse or misuse of the site, but I wanted to let everyone know that I am hosting a Dream Cymbal Tasting this coming weekend.

The event is Friday 4-9 and Saturday 10-5. I will have a Dream rep. here as well as Scott Pellegrom, who is an endorser of Dream. Scott will be doing little 10-20 minute one-on-one technique classes for anyone buying Dreams that day. He is one heck of a player!

Information:

11700 Princeton Pike

Cincinnati, OH 45246

513-671-3288

(Second floor of mall, near Sears)

If you are interested in coming, please let me know! It's always fun meeting the fellow vintage guys when possible. Feel free to call or email me: kschwallie@hotmail.com and I can give directions or anything else you may need!

Thanks! And, I hope you see you then,

Kevin

I would be all over that if I lived nearby. Dreams are totally cool.

I use Dream Bliss cymbals every week. I have the 22" Bliss Ride, 19" Vintage Bliss ultra thin crash/ride, 18" Bliss crash/ride and the 16" Bliss crash.

My favourite is the 19" Vintage Bliss crash/ride. This lovely pie is about as thick as a sheet of bristle board, shimmers for minutes after a hit or wash and is darker than any Constantinople K. This cymbal is much more of a crash than a ride. The 22" Bliss has great stick definition and attack and suits the term "Ride" especially for jazz. The advertising literature for this Canadian Importer of fine hand-hammered Chinese cymbals states of the Vintage Bliss line, "Very Dark with a hint of Dragon's breath".

The "Contact" line by Dream are heavier pieces and suited to Rock.

All of Dream's line is made of B20 brass and hand hammered in every stage of manufacture. Still very much a "cottage industry" company with a gorgeous product.

Try these out...for about 1/3 the cost of K's you will not be dissappointed.

Cheers!

Any chance you could handpick a set for an overweight graying science geek? I can't make the showing, but I would love to have a small setup of 'em. I had a 17 until fairly recently. Nice cymbals. PM me if this is possible. Thanks.

I'd go if there was such an event in Southern Cal, like within 100 miles of Long Beach.

Thanks for the kind words from everyone about Dream, I will say that of all the events and clinics I have done, Dream has outperformed them all! I never would have guessed the 'Cult following' that develops once someone buys their first Dream!

I received inventory last night, we are starting to see some of the very first pieces with their laser etching, very tasteful!

Kellyj is right about the 'cottage industry', and I think this is what makes it very unique! Computer controlled systems are fine, but give me hammer on metal any day of the week!!

McJnic- PM was sent, just let me know what your ears like!

If anyone else is interested, I am happy to match up some cymbals for anyone!

Thanks again!

Kevin

Today's the day! Hope to see some vintage drum faces!

Or if anyone else would like me to ship anything, let me know. Rumor has it a 38" Feng Gong will be showing up. We have other sizes, but that would be sweet!

Anyway, happy drumming!

I sincerely appreciate the offer, but my man here has already spied me a sweet 19 that should fill the bill for my needs. He also has a 22 in mind if the 19 gets to my ears with a smile. Have I mentioned enough just how much I love this forum?
