It looks like the lower portion of the strainers were removed for photo clarity in the original post.

A two year old post! Coming back to life!
Ok, so the original person was talking about the bend on the strainer arm and not the depth of the strainer to the shell.
The photo is showing the bend length on the arm sticking out further on one strainer then the other.
