Differences in Slingerland COB Snares?

A friend of mine showed me a COB Slingerland COB snare with a 3 point strainer and no extra holes. He said it was a really early Krupa Sound King with a 3 pt. strainer, pre-Zoomatic. I'm reading up on this and I never knew there was also a COB Radio King. Is there any difference between COB Sound Kings with 3 point strainers and COB Radio Kings if both of these exist? Also, is there any difference in sound and shell between those two snares, the regular Sound King with the Zoomatic and the Shelly Manne Leedy COB? Or are all the differences strictly about the strainers/hardware? And last, is the Festival just a steel shelled Slingerland snare drum? Thanks

No same shell used on both models, only the strainer difference.

And re the Festival, from early 70's it was a steel shell as you say.. earlier versions were brass.. earlier versions also had a fold over (90 Degree) bearing edge and the later ones had the same edge as the Sound Kings.. there have been some festivals reportedly with a Sound King 3 line shell.. probably as result of production shortages of the stock shells..

Cheers

Thanks. It seems like the names didn't mean much and it was more about whichever stock parts were available. There's probably no detectable difference in sound either. Do you know if any other strainer has same hole spacing as Zoomatic? I'm asking because I love the Sound King drum but really can't stand the Zoomatic strainer.
