Just wondering how much a vintage drum is devalued by someone putting their name on the inside of the shell with a felt tip pen??

Unless someone insists on using clear heads, it shouldn't be an issue. Lots of people autograph their valuables in case of theft. It's common practice and shouldn't effect the value of a set of drums. Unless the buyer is a stickler of course. When you sell it, just tell em you're throwing in the autograph for free! :D

If it bothers you, it shouldn't take much light sanding to remove; add a little tung oil and no one would know there had ever been any graffiti.

Gina Schock wrote inside one of my snare drums with a sharpie in 2012. So did this other guy in 83. With a pen even. Same drum.
All depends on the name.
