I own it, its not a magic marker, its a paint marker actually....LoLoLoLo

so do i and it isn't permant, and it is also put out by sabian which it also has a copy right on it, thats why they go thru the trouble of doing it, you can argue this point all you want it is why it says pat pending on it,LoLoLoLo

Who's arguing? All I said is that sabian makes one for their cymbals and that they obviously aren't overly concerned about the use of it. It would be rather hard to counterfeit a cymbal anyway since they are stamped in the metal with the makers mark and in the cases of modern cymbals the serial number too.

Why shouldn't Paiste and Ziljian join in with sabian and offer logo renewal kits? Seems like a good idea to me......
