Came across this site recently and just wanted to say Hi...

Last summer I was fortunate to come across my `67 Ludwig Blue Oyster 22,13,16 for £750...I`m always keen to have the matching snare for my kits but thought the chances of coming across one for this would be slim (or expensive!). Unbelievably I found a matching Pioneer for £220 about a month later!...although technically not correct, its now my gigging kit for my job in a Beatles tribute band...it looks the part, sounds the part..and now I feel officially part of the `Vintage Drum Club` :D

Nice! I have a blue oyster super calssic, early 60's. Mine came with a 70's Supra. I would love to find a matching snare drum, but your right,, big bucks!

Nice looking kit. I think Ludwig's blue oyster pearl wrap looks every bit as good as its oyster black pearl. I've had them both and love the looks of both!

Thanks for the nice welcome...its nice to come across a forum which isnt about Joey Jordison/Travis Barker/whoever being better than X or Y etc etc....not that theres anything wrong with either of them...lol

My `other` kits are a Pearl Masters and a Yamaha HipGig...fantastic kits in their own right and I enjoy playing them whenever the situation arises, but theres just something extra about playing and owning a vintage kit...maybe its the history..the feel..the sound and tone...but I always look forward to setting up and playing the Luddy. Its a bit like keeping a vintage car on the road, with enthusiasts always willing to give advice on servicing, spare parts etc... :-)

I now find myself scouring Ebay on a regular basis for any vintage gems...its never ending! :-)....my job is also my hobby, and Im very lucky to have that!

I agree about the Blue Oyster finish...it looks amazing on stage and off.
