VM2K thanks for the great pictures for comparison!!! I was looking at the Continental as it has the larger chip pattern. I figured it was much brighter but also see it's more on the blue side as well. Interesting. You certainly went above and beyond to show the differences. Many thanks.
Gravy that's good to know on the shrinkage. That would certainly be a major drawback. I had no idea. I wonder if they are planning to redo this color in the newer material?
LD thank you for the info you posted as well. It's good to hear a few opinions. I like a nice crisp WMP too but with 70 years of wear and tear it's always yellow. The WMP wrap on the bass I'm getting still looks very nice. So I was hoping to get a wrap somewhat close and possibly tint it to match. I plan to experiment a bit with this. My main fear would be how the wrap would react to a tinted clear sprayed over it. And how well it would hold up. And if the wrap shrank I wonder if the tinted clear might flake off possibly.
RS I thought about leaving the tom natural finish. But I've been lusting for a old WMP kit. I could never afford a nice old Radio King kit so I'm trying to piece one together slowly as I can. Once the drum gets here I'll have a better idea which way to go. I was just trying to plan ahead a bit. I'm glad I asked!!
Great info everyone thanks so much!
Glenn.
