Constantinopel?

Loading...

I got an old 18" cymbal with a drumkit I bought last week.

You can see "Constantinopel" on the stamp here:

But what the signature say:

Does anyone have more info about it, or perhaps an age-guess?

Anyway, it sounds AWESOME. Really really heavenly......

Looks like it says "Zeltian" or "Zveltiarn" to me...which doesn't help me at all! I've never heard of this.

I found a reference on an Italian drummers site (I know, get a life) referring to Zveltiam cymbals, made in Italy 1950s. There was a 15" crash going for 75 Euros. Think that might be the answer to the question. H?ber det hj?lper.

I can post some more full pics later today.

Thanks for the italian ref. What bugs me is the Constantinopel stamp tho, as far I know they never made cymbals in Italy.

I think it was pretty common for the small time cymbal makers to make Turkish references in their cymbal stamps. The moon and star is also a Turkish reference. It looks like the script says Constantinopla which is kind of an Italianized Constantinople. To me it says that Constantinopla may be the cymbal model. Just a thought.
