CoB Super Ludwig Scratched Chrome

Loading...

I have a CoB Super Ludwig from the late 50s I think. The chrome is lightly scratched all over really. Can this be polished out to improve the look of the drum? Anyone done this?

Advice appreciated.

That is what happens when you use steel wool! It is that way for good!

Indeed. It was that way when I got it, I just wondered what could improve it.

Agree with the others, it wont buff out because Chrome don`t roll around like paint. Buffing it would make the scratches show up more. Brush finish or re-Chrome is about all your choices.

We are constantly warning about steel wool or SOS pads,...a Big DO NOT USE.

Funny thing is people will still argue with you when you say "don't use steel wool" it never fails. "Oh I only use the really fine stuff"

The bottom line is steel is harder than chrome.
