OK, let's make sure you really understand what you have. Your "Powertone" althought a very nice snare, is not really all the rage. It would be if it were a Dynasonic, that is the one people get all googly eyed over, and tend to bring upward of 2500 by it's lonesome. Now, your set, although a very nice set, will more than likely not bring anywhere close to 3K. I want you to understand, I am not being a jerk, not a meanie, but if you looked on ebay at pOOder2, and saw some pie in the sky prices for some Rogers gear, trust me, not one member of this forum would EVER pay those prices. She is a thief, and has pulled a fast one on everyone she has ever dealt with. We make fun of her on a regular basis. I bring this up because those drums she lists are revolving stock, she never sells them. They have all been listed and relisted so many times, we get tired of seeing them.

Sorry to pop your bubble, but the set you describe is worth about 1000-1200, MAYBE, and possibly a little more if it pristine condition, and that is if you have all of the hardware as well. So, don't get mad at me, I am the messenger, and if you take out any reference to pOOder2 in your search of completed, SOLD items for the EXACT drums on ebay, you will get the real picture. This economy is tough, and $3000 kits are not seen but for truly rare sets today, and yours, sadly, ain't.

I'm a little confused (nothing new there)! In another section of the forum you stated that you only had two pieces of this kit and two Slingerland pieces. You mentioned that your friend who sold (or gave you) you the two Rogers pieces, had the rest of the kit.

If I read your other post correctly you were having a dilemna about selling the kit (assuming you did get all the pieces) since your friend had no idea of its true worth. It sounded as if you had a little guilt issue going. Obviously, since you're initial asking price was $3,000 it sounds like you've successfully worked your way through that guilt issue.

You also mentioned in your prior post that if you did decide to sell the kit you'd use the money to buy yourself a new kit. Now you're saying that "this is a set that belongs to someone out there who dreams of this rare set nightly."

I honestly don't know how "rare" this kit is and, without pictures, I can't imagine ANYBODY offering you $2000 - $3000 for it. I agree with jonnistix that even with pics, that price seems like a pipedream.

I guess I still haven't grasped the intent of your two contradictory posts.DOH Perhaps you could help clarify your position.

Less the snare of course, and the 14 is not an ayotte. With some DW hardware, no pedals, no cases, no cymbals. Providing that when you finally post pics ,.................. the set is worthy of a trade. Of course, I get to receive your set first, to determine worthiness.

I'm thinking he has talked his partner into giving up the rest of the kit and now he is looking into the prospect of selling the kit whole, in hopes, and rightly so, of getting a better offer.

Go to Ebay and figure out what your set is worth, through completed listings.

Post some pictures.

See if the Forum agrees with your findings.

I see you have already lowered your asking price by $1000 since you started the thread. You are heading in the right direction anyway. And, it's good to hear the set is back together... another good move.
