I love my Slingerlands, they sound and look fantastic. If I bought these, I'd have to play them ... the red Yamahas would probably have to go.

Awesome. Did you get them?
I've never been into vistalites, but those are really cool. But as a Slingerland guy, I'm jonesing for a Phantom now.
I did it. I now have the two kits I spent a lot of time dreaming about in high school during the late '70s.
I'll admit that this purchase is 100 percent about looks and I know that the Vistalites won't sound at all like wood drums. If my band or I can't get used to them, it might be a short honeymoon.
Slingerland will always be my first love, but for now, I'm going to try to enjoy my midlife crisis.
Now that I've done this, the drums I want to augment the blakrome set will probably show up.

It's a nice looking set.But i think you paid alittle to much for it 1,400.00 with shipping for the drums and tom mount only.On C/L someone had a set of these same clean set up with stands and Zild cymbals they were asking 850.00.....Mikey
Possible, but I can deal with "a little." Perhaps the $850 guy wasn't asking enough. In any case, the deal you mention isn't currently on any SoCal CL that I've seen, although there is a green set in Ventura for $1,300 from January 16. I know it's rare, but I wanted clear.
For now, I'm satisfied. It compared favorably with other completed eBay deals. I don't think I would have pulled the string if it didn't include the snare.
Mikey, if you're still in Orange, PM me. Let's grab some breakfast at the Filling Station and I'll give you the Paiste Profiles 3 booklet you expressed interest in last year.

The set was on C/L in Sac,ca about 125 miles down the F.W. from me..Any vista snare from the 70's are hard to come by most set's came with the chrome snare..Also most of the vista's snare's you see have a crack or two in the shells...I will be back down in southern .ca in about 7 weeks...I will let you know i will be meetng alot of other members too...Mikey
I'm interested in this as well; am located in SoCal.
I'd say, all things considered, you got it for a fair price. Sure, somewhere someone could find it cheaper. I've gotten crazy deals before. It makes it easier to spend more on the really obscure stuff. This kind of kit is pure emotion. That clear looks absolutely stunning. If it was blue, I'd say it was worth half. But clear? Clear is just plain cool, and it has the snare. Hopefully it cleans up and buffs out really well. It's not mint, but as long as nothing's broken, it's fully restorable. Congratulations.
Looks like a nice kit. I would have been concerned about rash on the Bass drum the way they have the tom post all the way down in the Bass drum but it looked ok in the pics. It still amazes me the price of the Acrylic drums. There plastic.
They probably make a lot more profit on those drums than the wood kit's, unless I am just way off base. They look really cool but I can't justify the prices. Even the new ones Ludwig offers. How much could that material cost in bulk?
Maybe it's the manufaturing process but I just don't get it. Maybe someone can enlighten me here.
I want to see them cleaned up looks to be a really nice kit just dirty come on show us the pics... nice find
