I want to clean the wrapped finishes on some of my drums, as well as remove scuffs. Pretty sure I can use light auto compound, but is there something better? My Red Tiger Slingerlands are badly in need of some TLC

I start with soap and water to remove surface dirt first, as this may cause scratches later. Depending on the severity of the surface scratches, Novus is a decent plastic polish, as is Meguiers Plastex, which can be purchased at Walmart. I use an electric hand buffer to apply doing one panel at a time. When wiping, use only 100% cotton cloths. Lastly, Novus 1 for final hand buffing.
Wraps of rougher surfaces like older Slingerland don’t work so well. They are kind of dimpled. Only smooth wraps tend to work well with this method and it doesn’t harm the wrap.

+1 on Novus...Use #2 for deeper scuffs and scratches, #1 for final polish and for fingerprint/dust repellent...
