Cleaning Felt??

Hi, I have a Rogers snare with felt internal muffler. Previous owner had used double-sided tape of glue to stick an extra piece of foam rubber to the felt pad. I carefully removed it and the black felt is now left with a sticky residue. I put some detergent and boiling water on it. It didn't really remove the glue, but it did make it less sticky. It's still not great. Please feel free to put suggestions in the suggestion box below. :)

Thank you in advance for any information.

Small sharp sissors or a razer blade, just trim right below the residue.

Great idea! That never occurred to me.

Thanks.

Got a muffler that had a light coat of overspray. This method worked fine. Used a comb to blend the fibers. Couldn't tell there was ever an issue.
