Cleaning & Polishing Ludwig Nickel...

Got lots of 50s-60s Ludwig nickel-plated hardware (rims, lugs, etc.). I can clean & polish chrome, but am new to the nickel... what's the best way to clean & polish?

Cape Cod cloths work great on nickel parts. Takes a little work, but the results justify the effort.

I had started using Maas polish. It works but takes some elbow grease.

Is this Maas polish significantly better than Simichrome? I just bought an old Martin sax. The tarnish on the keys is very stubborn.

I got a tip from one of the members on this site....i have tried this and it is an easy and exceptional way to get superior results... Vibratory polisher and fine crushed walnut shell medium. Incredible results

Read up on this type of polishing and all procedures re this on this site

Here is one of the tumbler posts. I have since come to the conclusion that paste Aluminum Mag Wheel polish/cleaner and micro-fibre towels are best final polish for nickle plate.

I remember this from about a year ago. Harbor Freight has one I almost bought.

I have some mag wheel cleaner down in the garage that I can try tonight before I go looking for the Maas polish.

I have never seen tarnish like this before on chrome. I used Simichrome with my Dremel tool, and I was able to determine that there is chrome under the dull gray layer.
