I have searched for a set like this for at least 20 years. 14/18/24 Dixie luan Pearl stencil. There is a picture in one of the VDG'S stencil catalogs of an Apollo set in similar sizes. The wrap is badly split and will need to be replaced. The 18 bottom hoop is missing as are all the bottom rods. I don't care...The only 24" bass drum luan stencil set I've ever seen is a CB 700 from more around 1982 (wristwatch lugs). Single tom mount w/cymbal arm. Pretty cool...
Circa 1969 Dixie "Rock" 3 piece.
Congrats on finding your prize! Have fun with the restoration.
teverson!
I would certainly say that your MIJ find is somewhat rare! Like you mentioned, I've also never seen anything but 20" and 22" bass drums during the 60's and mid-70's. The "Rock" designation pretty much tells the story! As jm mentioned, this will be a fun restoration. Looking forward to the "after" pictures!

Nice rock machine! Are you going to keep black colour when rewrapping? Congrats.
Interesting find. Looks like a set that could have been new on the floor at a Daddy's Junky Music back in the day. Enjoy!
Rare sizes, for sure.
