Chrome finish Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Is this finish as unpopular as Butcher Block? I bet it's a pain to keep clean too. I am looking at some 70s chrome Slingys but can't seem to pull the trigger. Thanks.

They didn't age well. The butcher block wrap is indestructible, you can pull it off the drums and put it on your kitchen counter. I don't think anybody would hate you if you pulled off the chrome wrap and put your favorite on there. Go with something you don't see everyday. I'll suggest Drum Foundry Copper Pearl.

Thanks, thought so. Since I already have a butcher block set I may pass on these:

That might be a great price though........

If it's your cup of tea....

He says the only thing missing is the stuff for the front of the bass.... wonder if the 2 Set-O-Matics are included?

I'm kinda thinking the same thing............if it was local, I'd definitely grab it.

That kit has possibilities depending on what you want to do.Nice kit as a player or project esp if you can get it at the lower price. If the snare is a cob that's 150.00 right there, cow it is still worth 100.00 and it looks like an 8 lug.The 12 looks like it could be a standard size, the 13 and 14 look like power depths, but you could hang or convert the 14 and have a nice 12 14 16 22 kit.If it is in decent shape with a few scratches already no worries as a player/gigging kit.Not real collectible because of the Era and Wrap,or one to flip for profit but a nice kit for the right person.

I think it is collectible.... you see only about three or four of these a year.

But, I'm a Slingy Freak.......

I would definitely not change a thing.

It's pre- 5-ply, so the era is still good, IMHO.

So funky looking when set up in full, it becomes beautiful.....

Slingy didn't make a 13 "power tom" during the years the Avante was offered, just the good old 9x13, and the 10x14 is their standard issue for a larger ride tom. It looks to me to be the 8x12, 9x13, 10x14, 16x16 that the catalog lists.

If I had the scratch, these puppies would have a new home.

They would likely have to live in the kitchen or spare bedroom's bathroom....

It's getting tight on interior real estate at Casa Kev's !!

Barring unrevealed issues, someone will be happy with those.........

Thanks all for great feedback - looks like I can get them shipped for $400 since the auction ended without a bid. I say why not? Not a lot of downside on these Slingys, eh?
