Changing the hoop on my Gretsch Snare

Loading...

Hi

I'm looking for some advice, I have a 60's round badge Gretsch wood snare, I play a lot of shuffle, the hoop (single flang ?) is a stick eater, its an 8 lug hoop.

Any suggestions on a replacement and if so where I might find one ?

Thanks

A die-cast rim to stay within the Gretsch vibe would somewhat save your sticks. Obviously you will keep the original rim for resale purposes. :)

Keep fixing them up...

I was under the impression that die-cast hoops were standard on 60s round badge snares. Or could it be that this "single flange" is in fact a die-cast?
