I have some NOS Champagne wrap...

Hello...this is my first posting. I usually would not come on to a forum to sell something in my first thread, but I am posting here now because I was told by one of your members that someone was looking for this wrap.

Looks like a great place to hang...so I will be stopping in from time to time.

Jerry Jenkins

This is vintage wrap that has been in storage for 25-30 years. This is the original wrap that Delmar Products-Berlin Connecticut sold to Ludwig and other drum manufacturers, as well as one or two drum supply houses of that era. This came from Allen Blaemire, who sold fiberglass shells and drum wrap in the 70's, into the early 90's. I knew Allen because of my involvement in restoring his fiberglass drums.

This champagne has the clear backing. The Precision wrap is much more pink in color. The reason is that the mix of copper and silver is different. The current Champagne is a 25-75% mix. The original and what I am selling is a 50-50% mix. The Champagne sparkle sold by Precision Drum Supply is $220 per sheet...plus shipping! The wrap that I am selling will be a much closer match than any current wrap being sold today. Of course this is new, and will not have any fade in it, as it has been stored in a unopened box of wrap. The aging and or slight yellowing of older champagne wrap needs to be considered, when trying to match to a vintage drum. I have sold this wrap on two other forums over the last year or so....and every buyer has said the match to their kits has been dead on.

I started out with 40 sheets of the Champagne. I am down to about 9 sheets.

I sell mine for $175 shipped in the US, but I have shipped my wraps overseas, it just costs more.

I sell other colors of wrap, and could post them in your classifieds, if there is an interest here.

The pictures are of the Champagne wrap. The rack tom has the original Ludwig Champagne on it. The snare is one I recovered for a friend.

Hey guys,

I'm the member who told Jerry (Drumjinx), that some of you might be interested in his NOS wrap. Jerry was the one who built my Blaemire/Ludwig kit, shown in this thread.http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=6934&highlight=blaemire

I will personally vouch for Jerry, he is a stand up guy, and also has a ton of drum building knowledge, that would be valuable to this site.

I need one more drum to complete a vintage Gretsch champagne sparkle kit and I am seriously considering the rewrap route.

If I read this thread correctly, even if I were to buy the "Bermuda Sand" wrap from Precision, it won't exactly match my old set because the mix of copper is different?

If my understanding above is correct, can Jerry / Drumjinx PM me or can someone like mendozart help put him in touch as I see he doesn't post much so probably won't see this request.

Many thanks.

Precision Drum also has a bit of "new old stock" Champagne Sparkle in a 6x54" sheet for $50. They claim it would match vintage kits.

Kits:
1950s Gretsch Name Band in Midnight Blue Pearl (13/16/22/14sn)
1965/66 Ludwig Club Dates rewrapped in Black Diamond Pearl (12/15/20)

BumBum61... you might get in touch with Drumjinx a bit quicker over at the DFO.

I bought some n.o.s. wrap from him last week, but I don't think he has any Champagne left anymore.
