Hi Stu here I am cleaning my drums. I have some damages/ missing tension rods. Can I go to guitar center and get some replacements thanks, stu.
Can I use modern tension rods on a Slingerland kit?
Don't know about Guitar Centre, but if you are after originals they are always up on ebay. Jammin' Sam have a decent range of replacements.
Here's a link..

Yes, but you'll pay through the nose for them.
Try one of the supply houses.

DrumFactory
Interstate
etc, etc.........Google up Drum Supplies to get a full list of providers
Yes you can. I still need 20-24 original tension rods. We bought our Grandson a pint size little kids Ludwig set for Christmas. It's actually a nice little kit. It came with some extra rods, washers and lug inserts. Made in China but they threaded right in the old Slingerland lugs on the kit fine. I'm going to check the local Guitar Center tomorrow and see if they sell them. As much as I dislike them they are the only game in town here. I need 8 for my floor tom and will use them until I can find the correct ones. Would be faster them ordering online for me at this point.

Kevin do you know how much GC charges? They are like 50 cents each with washer online @ drumfactorydirect.

Plus 1 on DFD, Matt is a great guy to deal with & they ship fast. Just get some cheap replacements for the time being to get the kit up & running. You can find the real deal slowly as they become available at a reasonable price.
