It can never be to big!! I have 40 plus in my set up but it never leaves the room!! when I gig it is on a smaller 4 piece jazz kit and that is only once or twice a year!!But as for getting big sets outside it takes time and preparation to pull it off!! when I have done it (Twice) took an hour and a half for it to come down stairs, two hours to set it up, 15 minutes to shoot pictures, one and half to get it back in the house!! then about two weeks to get it set up around a 40 hr a week job!! All i can say is that it is a Blast setting it up Outside!!
My set is a four piece I've thought about adding another tom where my ride cymba sits but i'm not sure I would like the idea of havin to reach way out to play my ride cymbal. I'm sure the extra tone would be nice.

Again I would think if you are having fum with it go for it!! YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE!! think of the possibilties that can be created, but then again doing a Terry is extreme!! makes you wonder if he really does have fun playing some thing so intricate!!

Man! I would LOVE to hear that gong........
I got to go to the Paiste factory in 1985.........they gave me a cup of coffee (9 AM),and turned me loose in this huge room with all sorts of gongs/cymbals.........
When I was leaving the factory, going back to the train,a Concorde jet went over head..........whoosh!
