I'm sure this question has been asked a million times, but does anyone know if Home Depot or Lowes has grommets that will work for badge replacement?
Thanks,
Mike

Thats a good question. I installed a grommet today and it split on the backside due to excess length of the grommet. The grommet I installed came with a badge I bought of off ebay. I suppose it would have worked if my drum was 1/2 inch plywood. I am gonna check at lowes. By the way I own a auto trim and glass shop and we use brass grommets at the shop, I have a grommet installing tool also. I am going to check my suppliers on grommets. and see whats available there.
Buy long or short grommets here
Awesome! Thanks a ton.

PS: Working on an old rough as hell Radio King Bass now. This one is going to be a go slow and hop easy challenge.
I thought about sliding the grommet on a bolt that just fits inside the gormmet, Put a nut on it, then either cut through it with a metal chop saw, which we have at my shop or just clamping it in a vise and cut it off with a lil cut off wheel. If the grommet bends we Might have to slip a punch through the hole in the grommet an tap on it with a small hammer to make it round again. This is just a theory of mine. Dont know if it will work.
I just finished restoring a set of 1966 Luddys that needed re-covering. I bought the covering AND THE GROMMETS from Precision Drum Co. They have them in all sizes for all makes, but their brass Ludwig ones are perfect repros. Also the $1.25 hardware store grommet tool(posted here) works like a charm. I'll post pix when I finish installing heads.
