Right now, Turner Classic Movies is playing the 1943 musical comedy DuBerry Was A Lady. The movie stars Red Skelton, Lucille Ball, and Gene Kelly. There are more than fifty actors in the supporting cast that makes it look as though the movie studio had every contract player put on a costume to appear in at least one scene---many of the parts were non-speaking roles.
In a dream sequence, Skelton was King Louis the 14th or 15th or some such number. At a royal ball the court musicians were played by the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra augmented by a full string section and a harpist. The drummer (Guess who?) was featured up front and played a great extended solo. I was able to find one photo of the band. See if you can find the movie to watch. Enjoy......
