Brought these home last night! Sparkling Slings!

Loading...

Hey guys I got these drums last night from a friends basement. They had been there collecting dust. They're a bit beat up but I believe they'll clean up great and sound even better. Slingerland sparkling black pearl. (Thanks Mark!) Just the 22" and 13" hi-hat and cymbal stand. Chicago badge but 60"s T's and claws. Someone went and painted the interiors white. (This wasn't factory right?)

There was also a Ludwig & Ludwig tom with these that has been spray painted black. Has the tacted bottom head. Missing a couple original clips on the top. Ill post some pics.

Ill post some separate pics of the 13" so you can see the issue going on with it.

Anyone have a matching FT? PM if so. Thanks

Here is the 13". This has this spot near the edge going all the way around the drum. It looked like the plastic was pealing up off the drum. Maybe it was old tape that went bad over time? Anywho Ill get these cleaned up and show some more pics in the next day or so.

Let me know what you think.

Eric - Kevin had a set of these up for sale some months back. The kit had the floor tom. I'll keep my eyes open for you. If I run into one, I'll pm you right away.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Good stuff there Eric. A really nice kit to fix up. Hopefully that is just tape in the 13" and comes off easy. Maybe there was a slightly oversize head on it and tape was used to help seat it better? Hard to say. Anyway very cool drums and a GREAT finish~! Lotsa pics along the way please!!

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Is this floor tom a match to my shells do you think? The sparkle specs look purple to me.
