Blue Satin Flame Kit

Loading...

Hi,

I need any and all of your "expert advise" ASAP.

I've got a chance to pick up an APOLLO Blue Satin Flame Kit from the 60s. It includes two rack toms (8x12 & 9x13), a floor tom (16x16) and bass drum (14x20). Also included is a TAMA Rockstar snare drum. The owner's also throwing in a vintage Ludwig Speed King Pedal and WFL snare drum stand. The bass drum's got an Aquarian SuperkickII head on the batter side and a black REMO resonant head on the opposite side with two holes professionally cut into it. The finish, from the pics I've seen, looks to be in really nice shape, especially for a satin finish (which all seem to scratch), and the owner claims that the kit is very functionally sound.

The asking price is only $200.00 for everything but I've got to let him know by Saturday morning at the very latest whether I want the kit.

Is it a "go" or a "no" and why?

THANKS!Cool Dude

That is probably a nice kit for the price in regards to stencil kits from Japan.

I think the finish would be the deciding factor for me. Since you do not see many in that finish.

Add the Tama snare, pedal and snare stand $200 is not bad at all.

You have to figure the snare is worth between $30 and $60 depending on which model, the pedal and snare stand depending on condition. $40 for both.

The set is costing you $130 or so which is where it should be.

Remember, do not expect these to appreciate like American dums, but hold the value you paid and possibly go up a little over time.

I deleted the second post to keep things orderly on the forum.
