Not sure which ones you are referring to....
Blaemire / Ludwig Project
I recall you bought a small lot of shells awhile back. Am I thinking of somebody else? Could be, my poor THC soaked brain has as many holes in my memory as a Swiss cheese!

Those are probable the ones that Greg gave me the heads up on. Yes...they are all gone. I think I have one of them in my Citrus Mod kit (floor tom I believe). But...to know for sure, we will need Greg (my Biographer) to help me remember what went where.
:D
I was asking because I wondered whether any new kits or drums were in the offing/pipeline.

Actually, your entire Citrus Mod kit came from that batch. Are you sure you don't have a 12" shell laying around Jerry? The only Blaemires I know of that are for sale, are the blue sparkle drums that a good friend of ours is selling on ebay.

The two toms are Blaemires, but the bass drum is a Keller maple shell.

(Quote) in 1999 i helped to refurbish some of karen carpenter's kits thru my old boss and for richard carpenter. karen had a set of the blaemire concert toms. as far as i know, only ringo is the only other person with a set. here's a pic of me after restoring one of karen's kits and with the toms.
i have a pic of richard holding a blaemire tom, but it won't load here. it is on my blog with my little story about karen's kits, but i didn't wanna cut and paste it here and hijack this post.
anyway, i tried to find info on blaemire but there really isn't much out there.
since he was local, did he have a store? how do you find shells. did someone buy all the old stock? just wondering.[/QUOTE]
Great stuff Drummerfish. Feel free to hijack anytime if it is about Blaemires.
We love the story.
Where did you work when you took care of Karen's drums?
Al did not have a store. He made them and sold them out of his garage or neighbors garage. He sold them through Valley Drum Shop in Studio City/Van Nuys. I called him once and ordered shells over the phone, I think. I picked them up at his house in Glendale. Met him, talked a little and said thanks. He was a very nice/mellow guy. Extremely talented.
Shells are rare. Sometimes hard to spot too. My kit was wrapped and the interior of the shells painted black ( by me)(dumb idea and hard to strip). In that condition it is hard to tell what they are from a distance. We all just keep looking. If you have more pictures and or info. PLEASE share.
Thanks for the Great pics.

Thanks to Mr. Jerry Jenkins
I wanted to revisit this thread, as another of the "Andy Florio" shells has entered my collection. I picked up this drum as Jerry started to sell off his drums. This 15x15 drum didn't match his monster kit shells, so when Bermuda bought the kit, I asked if I could buy this drum, luckily he didn't want it. It sounds great, as usual, and fits perfect when I go 12,15,20. It was bittersweet working on this drum without Jerry, as we always enjoyed working on the original Blaemires.
