Found this Butcher Block kit on ebay. Very low starting bid. Seller says it's from 1975 but I'm think it's probably around 1978. Here's the thing there 3-ply shells. B/O Badges serial #'s are 170XXXX on the 12" and 179XXXX on the 13", 16" 22". The 12" tom has large lugs instead of the small classic lugs. The tone controls on the 12 and 13 have the mounting bolt over the tone knob. If this was 1975 the 12 would have the small lugs and the tone control mounting bolt would be under the tone knob. Now it's Ludwig and we know how unpredictable they were. But I would say this kit is most likely 1978 which I think would make it some what rare. It's basically the last of the 3-ply shell kits. I could be wrong and probably am. If I have the $$$ I would grab it.
