Hey all,
These nickel claws for my 1954 Leedy & Ludwig marching snare were very rusty and tarnished...I tried using vinegar but with only minimal results...I then tried using an extra fine wire wheel set up on my bench grinder...I just lightly touched the wheel with the claw and watched the years of rust and tarnish disappear quickly...I then used a j-e-w-e-l-l-e-r`s (censored) polishing cloth to buff up the nickel and to add a protective coating...
These turned out very well...I don`t think I would use the wire wheel on any chrome plated parts though...
I just wanted to share this...
Cheers
