I tried the Superball beater thing several years ago when I was first getting into playing drums and tinkering. I love the "dollar store drummer" thing. I still have a sticky hands damper on my snare along with the moon gels.I seem to always go back to felt or felt-faced beaters, so the OP's classy red striped one is a thing that I may try.
It is kinda classy isn't it? :) Thanks!
I was using one of the "multi-beaters" with two "faces", one hard plastic the other felt. It was nice and light and worked well with the Emad batter. But I had a hankering for the classic coated heads with felt strip, and that setup calls for a classic felt batter I think. So part of it was wanting that sound [and not having the felt beater I wanted] and part was looking down and seeing that classy beater.
I'm a sucker for aesthetics, not proud of the fact. :)
