To cintinue...Precision built me a wood shelled 14 x 7 snare to match
my blue sparkle 1968 set. Part of the build included bearing edges.
the drum sounds great and blends in with my vintage Luddies. They
will be doing work for me when I find the Rogers set I've been searching for.
They do great work and in a tilely fashion.

Out of curiousity for you folks that have HAD bearing edge work done--
Can these guys "fill" cuts, dings, sharkbites, etc. the edges and then create correct bearing edges?
Or, do they cut down the existing shell until they can get a complete true "new" bearing edge (albeit, with a slightly shorter shell)?
