Awkward tom placement after Slingy rehab

Loading...

I don't want anyone who's been watching/advising along the way to miss my completed Slingy rehab. It's under the title "Help Slingy Bass Drum rehab." Check out the completed project there.

My question is what to do with the mounted tom. Not very mechanically inclined to figure out on my own, the 13 inch tom (the only one I had to work with) would typically be on the right hand side of a double tom mount. Since I'm using the sole tom on the left side, the internal tone control knob is facing front and the badge towards the drummer. NOT cool. Any advice on what to do? Help2 Dean

You could flip it if the mount is vertically centered and you don't mind an upside down badge....

Wouldn't that place the internal tone control to the bottom as well though?

I was thinking of maybe going with a tom stand.

I'd just live with it the way it is.

Market it as a Left Handed Drumkit... Who knows? and the ad will surely pull a few views.. :)

Cheers

Yes it would and a stand is a good idea. :)

I'd just live with it. As I found with my two Rogers big R kits, the second mounted tom has the badge pointing towards the drummer. This was normal apparently. If it was good enough for Rogers...

Yep what Andrew said.....I wouldn't worry about it. The drums are stunning as is. And some toms had weird badge and muffler placement.

Glenn.
