hey guys!

i'm pretty new to the forum as well, but i'm a drummer from melbourne, and i'm just starting my vintage collection.

Funny you mention the drummers weekend in melbourne! I entered in it and came second in the open age categorie two years in a row (my friends now call me no.2 :P :P) in 2006 and 2007 i think?

not sure, great fun though.

but yeah! lets hear it for the australian vintage drumming community flower

welcome there mate, glad to have you here from down under

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I've got a keystone 402 from 1969 or so which I was thinking of parting with which is in pretty astounding condition. My slight reticence to part with this was swept away today when I saw one go for USD 1250 on ebay!!!!

Also thinking about parting with a 1983 vintage DW ten lug maple snare and possibly a Camco Oaklawn tuxedo-lugged COB snare.

What can I say, I just bought something really expensive.

I'm in Sydney, if anyone's interested.

Slightly bending the rules but this is the easiest way to get to the Aussies. I've posted the aforementioned vintage DW snare (stamped Oct 7, 1982) on the 'bay if that market has actually started.

wow.

yep I'm in Gippsland too, Garfield I guess is kinda part of West Gippsland. No live music scene around here at all, but lots of nice vintage drums at my joint. Luckily Melbourne has one of the best live music scene's in the world, and that's no exageration.

For Gippsland Westerport Hotel in San Remo gets some good acts, Fish Creek use to, Meeniyan has a great venue that regulary attacts international acts.

enjoy!
