Arggh.. Just just trying to buy some heads.

Loading...

This may come off a little preachy:

Try going to a local music store and give them a shot at ordering heads for you. Some will match the big chain prices.

If you order REMO heads made in the USA, you will be keeping a local retailer and an American company in business.

I work in a bicycle shop and virtually nothing I sell is made in this country!

I can buy sticks, heads, cymbals, and (for the most part) drums made here in the U.S.

I have actually never bought a new drumset, but I have always tried to buy american when getting sticks heads and cymbals.

Cool! No offense taken.

In my local area there are four independent shops, two hanging on by a thread. They mostly focus on lessons and repairs. Things that GC has not figured a way to capitalize on yet. Fortunately the used maket has seemed to backfire on them, because GC now looks like a pawn shop, literally one whole wall is used guitars. I belive it was their plan to overpay for used gear to deny the small shops the used inventory. Now they have taken to actually posting used gear on eBay.

In the bicycle industry many of the retailers have turned to MAP pricing to give the mom and pop shops a chance. At least this industry realized that it NEEDS the small shops in order to stay strong. The big retailers can't always get the same name brands as the independent shops.

That hasn't stopped some brands from starting their own shops.

Imagine that in the musical instrument industry.

FMIC stores, Selling Fender, Squier, Guild, Gretsch, Jackson, Charvel, EVH, SWR and Groove Tubes.

No worries. Only one M&P left here. The one good employee has moved on. What remaina couldn't be bothered. When in a hurry will buy from them but the markup is pretty high. Supersonic Music in Lawerence, KS is the complete opposite.
