apollo chrome over brass snare

Well I Found An Old 5 Pc. Apollo Set In The Attic.

The Toms Are In Good Shape , But Made Of A Paneling Type Of Wood On The Inside, And A Gold Sparkle Wrap On The Outside.

I Only Know Of This Brand Name Because My First Drum Was An Apollo Wood Snare I Got For Christmas 30 Years Ago.

The Set I Found Has A Chrome Over Brass Or Copper Snare, I Dont Know Anything About This Brand Except The Snare Weighs About 5lbs.

The Bottom Of The Snare Has 2 Solid Bars That Run Along The Strainer And Appear To Be Part Of The Throw Off Mech..

Does Anyone Know Anything About This And Where Can I Get Parts To Fix The Snare.

I would like to see some pictures of that drum. I have never seen

an Appolo with a parallel strainer.

Wow , so the snare I have is a late 60's tama?

Can I find parts for it anywhere , is it brass , is it worth anything and why does it say apollo?

I will continue to search for more info.

Thank You for your time!

Yes, you can say that it is from Tama when they were making

import drums under different names.

Yours just happened to be badged Apollo, but the strainer side plates

say Star.

Parts will probably have to be found on Ebay and more then likely another drum in your condition will have to be found. We call this a "Donor" drum.

In regards to value one just sold on Ebay for about $200 or so.
