On the M.I.J. drums from the mid 60's sometimes the wrap was only glued at the seem and not on all of the shell .Sometimes you will fine little nails around the drum holding the wrap on also at the seems...Mikey

If its 45 years old, try putting some alcohol on there. Let it sit for a bit. If they used hide glue, the alcohol will crystallize the glue, it will then come off very easily....

Don't use steam, it will warp the wrap and render it useless to you.
Like the others said, heat gun and a 3" putty knife. Take your time.

I've pulled lot's wrap off whole, all you do is try it. Some of the wraps were glued in one spot, many all around, but can't know until you get into it. lot of Pearl's were only glued at the seam. You'll pretty quick as it will move around when you take off the hardware.

On this website you can also find some additional hints:
Go to section 'Tips & Tricks' and then choose at the 'Wrap tips' the one at the bottom.
Best of luck!
