Hey, All. Happy New Year.
I just rec'd a vintage Italian Meazzi Hollywood snare drum in the mail today...I had won it on eFlay a few weeks back. She's in pretty good shape, but is missing a few t-rods.
Of course, the threads on these rods (Italian, probably mid-late-60's) don't match up with ANY other rods I have. They aren't the same thread as contemporary standard replacements, nore are they the same metric threads as the kind used on '60's-70's Japanese kits. :(
Ack...I CAN rethread the lug if worse comes to sorse....OR I can maybe just find a machine screw which matches the threading and have a few of the rods just be machine screws.....
But...that's kinda half-#assed....so I am considering having a whole set of replacements/repros made.
It'd be nice to be able to play this...after I am done restoring...y'know ? ;)
