Anyone hear of HAUP drums?

A student of mine just texted me. He found a set of drums called HAUP. There are two little dots over the letter U as if it were German. I can't find anything on these. Anyone have a guess what they are? I think he said they might be 20 years old.

actually, Haup-Sing had a set of their traditional drums on Bonanza; they came from the old country with him. it was his family's business but he had to choose between that and professional houseboy.
