I can't tell. Those hoop claws look interesting though. They may be a key to identifying the drum. It looks to be in nice condition. Judging by the overall appearance, I would guess that it's an early drum, 20's possibly, maybe a bit earlier.

Thanks. I'm trying to go take a look at it but do not have an idea as to a value or what to offer. The guy has no clue what it is.

I`m completely lost as to how those wires are attached. Most of the time, these cool drums end up being a Duplex of some kind.

I am not at all knowledgeable of older drums. By "Duplex", are you referring to a manufacturer or a style of drum?

Thanks,

Wes

They are a manufacturer. Make some of the coolest snare drum styles and models. I looked around at Duplex and for the most part Duplex grabs the side of the hoop to pull down, but early Duplex grab over the top of the hoop.

I moved on to MetJazz and French drums now, they have a similar crimp design on the clip. slotted screws too. At some point someone will find it or has seen it.

Might be a Ditson (another of the smaller drum builders). Though all I know is that I want it!
