Any of you clever guys know about this one?

This drum was rescued from under the performance stage at a school where I use to teach. Can anyone throw some light on it? It has no name on it and was obviously originally designed as a side drum, either in a marching band or orchestra. It has calf heads and snares.

Specifically to give a name to it might be difficult. It could have been from a variety of manufacturers since they were making similar drums at that time.

Maybe you could give a little more detail about the strainer (if it has one)

and what the shell is made of. It looks like some type of metal.

Maybe a shot inside the drum without the head on???

I'm guessing 20's or 30's and we have a few experts that can probably do much better then my answer, but I like to get the ball rolling and see what others may say.
