Any info on this British snare drum? Last viewed: 13 hours ago

Hi all,

I picked up this snare and, well, here's some photos. The trademark is stamped into the batter-side hoop. It seems to be fully original and complete. I don't know anything about this company. Any information would be great! It also appears to have some badge on the shell with some insignia which I don't believe is original to the drum.

Thanks in advance for any information.

After doing a bit of research it turns out that this was a banjo company, but I can't find any information on any drums that they made. It looks a little like Olympic or Premier. I just hope the shell is well made and not a biscuit tin. I need to look inside the drum when it arrives. I may just tune it up and play it as is. If it sounds too boxy I'll try modern vintage heads. It seems to be 4 x 14 and an 8 lugger too which is nice. :-)

can't help with that one but being an early British snare it may be an odd size, somewhere between 13-14". But it's cool it has calf heads that look in decent shape, especially the snare side slunk head

Thanks so much for The reply. I'm guessing you're probably right about the odd ball sized shell. I've an old 5 x 14 brass Olympic that's about 13.5". 6 lugger too. Great sounding drum mind you. :)

I'm delighted to have found this one with those heads in good condition like you said.

Seller listed it as "stainless steel drum" I just bought it assuming it's brass. It is brass right?

Cheers.
