Antique Ludwig Kit

Loading...

I lucked into this kit a month or so ago at a yard sale, and started to clean it up, but have decided to sell the kit because it's not a kit I would be comfortable playing.

My ebay seller name is smashing_adam, btw.

The kit is a 1919-1922 Ludwig Professional Outfit #1. It's missing its Chinese tom, cymbals, tamborine, and probably some hardware. THe junk cymbals in the photo are included.

I've replaced six of the snare clips with appropriate 1920's era Ludwig nickel-over-brass clips. I've given the snare drum a once-over with a LeBlanc nickel-polishing cloth, but there is some tarnishing I couldn't remove.

Kick - 28"

Snare - 14x4" NOB

Includes Ludwig slide whistle, Ludwig triangle, Ludwig castanet paddle, ratchet (not marked), Ludwig snare stand, Ludwig pedal with cymbal striker, stick bag, Ludwig wood block.

I just put the kit on Craig's List for $1000, but I'm offering here on the VDF for $750.

This'll have to be pick-up only as I don't think I can ship all of this very easily. I'm next to Atlantic City, NJ. If you're interested PM me and I'll PM you back my phone number.

Hi,

I saw your old Ludwigs and I'm interested. However I would like a few more photos especially of the bass drum (front/resonant side and side view) and some close-ups of the snare as well. If those "pan-out" I'd like to schedule a visit to see them in person - I'm up arround the Trenton area so A. C. isn't too far for me.

I guess I've over-valued the kit. Sorry about that. Because it's still available, I'm lowering the price to $650 for VDF members. This is pick-up only (I'm near Atlantic City, NJ).

Also -- I am open to trades. I'd love to trade for a single-ply snare drum of similar value.

"Farnes"

Thankx for the additional photos & I'd like to purchase/trade for these drums. Although I don't have any solid shell drums I do have a MINT condition RARE Puresound Percussion (the snare wire people) 5" x 14" copper shell snare. They only offered 2 types of snare drums (copper and aluminum) and then the company was sold to D'Addario (the Evans people) and the snares were "cut" from the catalog - these are great playing and rare drums! If your not familiar with the drum I'll get some photos to you.

If that's not of interest I'm sure we can find something to trade so please contact me by phone, my cell # is 215-932-2396.

Regards,

Mike
