Loading...

Hi there guys. Any one got any ideas as to the identity of this cymbal? Is it an old zildjian? I have a pair of them coming in a few days with an old premier kit ive just bought.

H,Doug- It predates my Zildjian experience. My instinct says go to Google.com, click on "Images", and type in "Arabic characters". You might find a family/factory name.

Good Luck!

I wonder if the stamp is even Arabic.

It looks to be turkish, there is the faint marking of the crescent on the left hand side

Looks like mine.

If they are mine, then they are rare and wearth alot.

Look more into them, but they seem like 1950s Istanbul Zildijan Cymbals.

Do some more research, and you may find alot about them.

How much are you getting them for?

I bought a premier kit for £150 just for the 14" floor tom to complete my;

18, 12, --, grey shimmer kit and this comes with it. I have been searching everywhere to find a match and came across a picture of a Zenjian on cymbalholics, still havent worked out wether it is a Zenjian or a Zinjian, wether its made by UFIP or zildjian but the stamp from cymbalholics looks pretty damn close. It kinda looks turkish to me not italian,

My cymbal, unlike all the other Zenjian cymbals I have seen online does not seem to be accompanied by a Zenjian logo! maybe its an early one.

Does anyone have any knowledge on these cymbals?

Ive attached a Zenjian stamp and logo, A K. Zildjian stamp and logo and my unknown stamp. Similarities in both

Hi Brad, do you have a picture of yours? Are they identical in stamp? How did you come across yours?

Well, I'll just say that the guy from post #3... Drumaholic, is one of, if not the leading authority on all things Cymbalistic on the planet.....

If that stamp was from a K Istanbul, I'm pretty darn sure he would have recognized it as one.

Just so 'ya know what kind of company you're in around here ........:)
