The prices here in Europe are considered mid-range i guess (between 150euro and 300euro)

I tested a lot of them and they all have something intersting but the vintage line has the most bright and clear sound i ever heard and they look super aswell ;)

From Supraphonic.D

Are there any negativities about Amedia??? lol

I played on a crash that was a dud one time. Also, a set of hats that was too heavy. Other than that, nope...

One thing to mention or add on this- and this is just my opinion...

I never try to mention OLD K and modern cymbals in the same post. I never try to compare modern cymbals to an OLD K - instead I simply try to describe what I am hearing as it is - I have not played enough OLD Ks to make a generalization - I have heard them on recordings- but my experience is too limited. I think it`s best to just stick to what I have in my own collection for comparison purposes.

There are folks here who have amazing collections of Old Ks (like Bill ofcourse) - I let him do any comparisons if they are needed- unsurprisingly- he never does. I get the feeling that the OLD Ks are a thing of their own and these modern cymbals are a thing of their own.

Amedias totally excite my playing like almost no other cymbals I have played- I really, really like them. They seem to work on the important jobs I have played them on. Just last week I recorded a television commercial here and used them- the sound was not too loud, very sweet and clean with a pleasing tone. I wouldn`t use these in a loud bar but in a musical situation requiring transparency they are the best I have.

Those look EXACTLY like my MidEast 16 Classic. The hammering pattern is a perfect match. Even the ink stamps are the same. I am now wondering if they are the ones that made them. MidEast is a large musical instrument distributor, mainly student stuff, and got into the cymbal biz in '07 I think, but adding yet another cymbal to the mix at that time almost immediately killed them in the meltdown of '08. They are still selling their other stuff, but cymbals are expensive to floor plan, so they got out in '09. I got my 16 crash, identical to Obops, but with MidEast Classic stamped on it, for $70, shipped, and it was NIB. It is a thin, hand hammered sweet heart! Very dark, yet quick. Nice cymbal. I know it was probably a factory second because it has some of those black spots from casting visible, but it sounds great. It was a stencil from those guys, I just know it. It looks just like the Amedias, ink stamp fonts and all.

Yeah, I've heard Mid-East cymbals had been manufactured in Amedia factory. I couldn't find the thread. I'm not sure it still continues. Their lines(Classic and others) had been sold around $100 on the Amazon before. But, most of them are gone.

Here we go buys! Note the sweet hammering on the little one. It is a thin to medium thin weight. (I have not weighed it)
