The story of AMAT was born from the initiative of Prof. Enzo Battezzati, born in 1923, trumpeter and percussionist, son of art, (the father Prof. Giovanni already affirmed theater musician). In 1951 Battezzati began building the first jazz snare drums and accessories on request. Subsequently, over the years, the increase in the demand for musical instruments, in particular acoustic drums and various accessories, meant that Enzo Battezzati decided to found the company Amat on 19 January 1959 (the original acronomino was aimed at AMAT and stood for Musical Items Related to Turin) , laboratory and exhibition located at the foot of the Mole Antonelliana in Via Gaudenzio Ferrari n. 4 in Turin where it is still located today. Since 1994 the sons of Enzo Battezzati: Gianfranco, who takes care of the artisan production and Stefania who takes care of the commercial part, have continued their father's activity with great passion, enthusiasm and competence. In 2004 Amat obtained the Piedmont Artisan Excellence award from the Piedmont Region, having been able to demonstrate its ability to best interpret tradition and always attentive to the high quality craftsmanship of the product. It has collaborated with important artists for the creation of works. All materials and labor are MADE IN ITALY.
