Mel was my drum hero growing up (+ Ringo of course) and his live JAPAN version of wipeout is the way I have played it ever since, note for note, much to the confusion of my bandmates!

I copied Mel's version also back in the day. It blew the original version away. Mel's son is the drummer in The Ventures now, and he's also a great drummer.
