A. Zildjian & Cie (USA) crash - dating?

Loading...

I recently scored an 18" A. Zildjian & Cie crash, and I'm curious about when it might have been manufactured. From what I've heard, Zildjian sold these cymbals from the late 1960's thru the early 1980's.

I'm wondering if anyone can tell from these pics (appearance, lathing patterns, stamp) a bit more precisely when within that timeframe it might have been made. It weighs 1323 grams.

Any help or info is much appreciated.

These first came out in the mid/late 1970's. Some of the first that were issued apparently used older inventory still laying around in the vaults since the early 60's.

What you have there is from the late 70's.

So you would say that one definitely looks like late-70's. Thanks!
