A Vintage Drummer

Loading...

I have downloaded many pictures of my father, a drummer who played from 1915 to 1970. These photos show U.S. Army bands from the 1920's to The Queen Mary Orchestra of the 1930's to The Olympia Theater stage orchestra in Miami of the 1950's. The drums portrayed in these photos are a rare look at the history of American drumming in the 20th century.

Where could I make these photos available to share with my fellow vintage drummers?

Can I ask was your father wealthy, the reason for my statement is all of your fathers kits and drums are all top of the line, equippment, on the Radio king kit there are attachments for a rolling console, this is just to cool!! wow!! thank you for sharing them with the forum.

Harrabey - In the first photo post that kevins kindly uploaded, and in the 4th photo from the left in the first line (The marching band shot), it appears that the bass drum has the metal ring cymbal striker (tucked onto the side of it) that is used traditionaly in New Orleans marching bands. Could you please share with me where that photo was taken?

Both photos were taken at Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas around 1922.
